Hanson International Apprenticeship Program
Build a career in advanced manufacturing with a leader in the industry for more than 50 years. In cooperation with Lake Michigan College and the Hanson International Technology Center, Hanson International offers area students the opportunity to qualify for and serve in our highly respected and long-standing Apprenticeship Program.
Apprenticeship candidates must pass the selection process that includes two interviews with our selection committee and other testing.
Apprentices learn all aspects of the trade from our journeyman mold makers and machinists. This includes how to operate various machine tools, including CNC machines. Die design and mold repair are also covered. You’ll learn basic theory in machining, blueprint reading and metallurgy, plastics and die casting.
During the four-year program, the apprentices are placed into the exact disciplines we determine are a fit for them: Moldmaker, General Machinist or Precision Machinist.
Upon graduation, apprentices receive their certificate from the Michigan Department of Labor and the American Mold Builders Association.
